Slide is an energetic process developed by Kal to pull someone into the camera. When Kal slides his models during a photo shoot, the emotions and energetic state are captured more vividly and the viewer has a stronger reaction to the image. The model appears to leap off the page! During the photo shoot the model actually feels like he is sliding towards the camera, hence the name of the book: Slide.

The ideal Slide subject is a man with ready access to his sexual energy and the ability to reflect that energy towards the camera. He drops into a sexy energetic space and frees himself for Kal to capture that moment on film.

There is so much in modern photography that can be retouched. For Slide, Kal wanted the models to radiate emotion, personality, and energy that cannot be retouched.
